Alayna

alayna

Alayna joined the Reins on Manes family in January 2010. As a new resident of San Diego, Reins on Manes would like to welcome Alayna. Originally from Texas, this caring, smart girl has spent years in an English saddle, turning heads at local competitions. Circumstances beyond her control limited her riding upon arriving to San Diego. But Reins on Manes has given this opportunity back to Alayna, allowing her the freedom to do what she does best, ride horses! Alayna is dedicated to her studies, and although she is only in the 6th grade, she hopes to become a veterinarian. This amazing rider also aspires to open a rescue organization for neglected and abused horses! Reins on Manes hopes to provide Alayna with knowledge and experience so that she will one day make her dreams a reality. Alayna’s favorite horse back in Texas was, “Oscar.” Alayna worked for years developing a relationship with “the horse no one wanted to ride.” She misses Oscar every day and hopes that she’ll see him again one day.

Alayna's Progress

Alayna continues to refine her riding skills and build the foundation for her dreams of one day rescuing and rehabilitating horses. Alayna truly understands the value of communication between horse and rider, enabling her to progress quickly through our horsemanship program. Alayna is able to saddle and bridle Isiss on her own and with patience and ease. Alayna is able to share her grooming techniques and saddling secrets with younger Reins on Manes students. Thanks Alayna! She rides with ease in the arena, focusing on riding aids and secure seat instruction from trainer Bethany Pappani.   Reins on Manes is so proud of the incredible talent this young lady holds and all the connections she has already inspired at Windfall Ranch. You haven’t seen the last of this bright rider, as she hopes to dedicate her life to helping horses. Check back for updates as Alayna’s dreams come true and she continues to ride at Windfall Ranch in honor of the horse that sparked the fire in her heart and soul, “Oscar.”

1How To Groom: Alayna completes all basic grooming procedures with ease. She now assists younger students as they learn to properly groom their horses. Thanks Alayna!

2How To Ride: Alayna is currently learning to canter with ease with instructor Bethany Pappani.

3Proper Safety Precautions: Alayna has completed our “Safety Training Lesson” and knows how to act quickly in an emergency, understanding both horse and rider first-aid procedures.
