In December 2008, Bethany Pappani Training set out to make dreams come true, reaching out to youth under challenging circumstances and giving them the opportunity to share in her love of horses. With the creation of the program, "Youth Holiday Wishes 2008," Bethany Pappani, with the help of Cristen Boerman, granted horse dreams and childhood wishes. The program awarded horseback riding lessons to children in the local San Diego community. The team set out to grant five wishes, but found an overwhelming response. All in all, 13 children were granted their wish to ride horses that holiday season. Since the initial holiday program launched, a few of the recipients have continued learning with Bethany Pappani into 2010, making incredible progress in their interactions with the animals, as well finding inspiration in their own accomplishments.
Bethany Pappani Training continued The "Youth Wishes" Program in 2009, awarding monthly lesson scholarships to essay applicants. The program was open to children 3-21 years old. With an understanding of the many challenges that face families, children, and adolescents today, the program was designed to inspire hope in their lives, to encourage them to excel, and to provide a fun yet safe atmosphere for kids to grow and develop. In 2009, the "Youth Wishes" Program served over 20 families at Windfall Ranch located in Alpine, California. Many of these families have been invited to join our Reins on Manes family. We look forward to the continued development of their courage and confidence both in the saddle and in their lives.
